As planned, we worked on our project this weekend and discovered quite a few technical limitations along the way. It's a major setback considering my earlier assumptions about the technology. I am not sure how can we find our way around them, but if we've to build it we need to solve them asap. Following are the things that are troubling us:
I think it can be solved if we can somehow hack inside the wrapper and understand what's going on inside. I'll have to talk to some experts and see what's possible. That's it for this post, good night fellas :)
- Head Movement: Device loses its calibration if we try to move our head while it's tracking the eyes. It's not practical to hold your head still all the time while you are using it, so it's an immediate priority to solve it.
- Poor Calibration: We are still unable to get a decent calibration out of the device. The distance is perfect and still there is no improvement after numerous tries.
